Two people were transported to the hospital over the weekend following a late-night automobile accident at the intersection of Hoover and Florence in South L.A. Around 3 a.m. Sunday morning a white 18-wheeler operated by the U.S. Postal Service collided with a car there, sending the truck into the frontage of a Tom’s Jr. Burger. Both drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

ABC7 was on the scene early, snapping photos of the disabled truck resting at least partially alongside the front of the restaurant, blocking the drive thru lane. Tom’s Jr. restaurants are well known in the South L.A. area, with locations in Lynwood, South Gate, Compton, and beyond. All keep near round-the-clock hours, though ABC7 says no one was inside the restaurant at the time of the crash.

LAist has since reported that Tom’s has reopened, which means (thankfully) the damage must have been minimal. Of course this isn't the first time we've seen an intersection accident take out a Southland dining landmark: Back in July, a massive Gardena crash temporarily took out the corner Donut King location as well.
