It appears as though Los Angeles has not yet lost its hunger for steak frites, as evidenced by the Friday arrival of Le Relais de l’Entrecôte to Melrose Avenue. The Parisian import is a long time coming, having been well in the works since 2014.

Now comes word that they’re finally ready to roll, with a call to the restaurant confirming Friday night as their first evening of service. Much like their international outposts in Paris and Geneva, the former showroom space will rock a charmingly colorful design with multi-colored tablecloths and their signature red awning. The interior is equally adorable, with a casual bistro feel spread around a wood-lined room that’s dotted with artwork.

As for the menu, it’s all steak frites all the time, served of course with their signature housemade sauce. They’re not the only ones in town doing that same simple combo these days, though: L’Assiette Steak Frites has been at it a while further east on Melrose. There was even a similarly French contender, Relais de Paris in Beverly Hills, though it never quite got its act together and managed to close just three months in.

Once Le Relais de l’Entrecôte is fully operational, expect daily lunch and dinner hours. Want to get in on Friday? You can call the restaurant now to make a reservation.
