While Caffe Primo seems to have stalled in some places they’ve been quite busy in others, as evidenced by the company’s brand new casual coffee and lunch outlet that debuted quietly next to the Arclight in Hollywood last month.
There hasn’t been a ton of traction on the place just yet (as evidenced by the lackluster three reviews on Yelp so far), but the place is certainly in a prime location for quick service diners looking for something to munch on before or after a show. Perhaps the most underrated part of the place is the happy hour, which drops $4 beers and $4 wines between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. daily. You won’t beat those prices from twenty feet away at the Arclight proper, that’s for sure.
It should be noted, however, that the place isn’t exactly the comfortable enclave that customers might associate with the brand from their lounge-ier West Hollywood digs. No, this is the short-lived former Roadside Eats space, which means its got all the fast casual functionality of a grab and go place, stiff seats and all.
Still, for anyone in need of a cheap-ish meal, glass of wine, or quick cup of coffee in the area, you could certainly do worse. And with Stella Barra always packed to the gills right around the corner, there’s certainly enough foot traffic to keep the place potentially buzzing. Now if they could just figure out what to do with all that extra space inside Woodland Hills’ former Cheesecake Factory.
