It's been a while since there's been much news from sbe, the hospitality and nightlife company that has had a bumpy ride over the last few years. That's about to change with the opening of Doheny Room, and new lounge taking over sbe's long-shuttered Mercado di Vetro on 9077 Santa Monica Blvd.
Doheny Room will boast an international menu that comes by way of Danny Elmaleh (of sbe's Cleo and Katsuya), with plenty of cocktails to wash it all down. As the late hours approach, it's likely that the crowd will turn to vodka-soda while the tunes heat up.
Designed in partnership with Rockwell Group, Doheny Room pays homage to LA mogul Edward Doheny with plenty of Art Deco vibes that give the two-story space an early 20th century feel. Expect floor to ceiling windows, shutter treatments, and abundant greenery.
Mercato di Vetro closed back in 2013, and has been vacant ever since. Doheny Room is slated to debut in May, and will be open seven days a week from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
