Something is afoot on the corner of E. 3rd Street and Alameda in Little Tokyo, as it appears none other than the Wokcano team is behind a forthcoming lounge and club concept there to be potentially titled T3 Bar & Grill. The newcomer is currently in paperwork mode, and would only add to the stable of brands currently operating under the Wokcano banner.
Just last year, Chynna Dim Sum Lounge bit the dust in Little Tokyo, leaving a gaping hole to be filled by someone else — especially with all that transit construction going on nearby, ensuring the place will be a walkable hub for years to come. Enter Ka Wai Kwan and the M2k restaurant group folks, with apparent plans to launch a new Downtown nightlife destination later this year.
This ABC license ultimately points back to the M2K team’s corporate address, and shows plans for T3 (or whatever it will be ultimately called) to operate as a full-service drink spot serving some level of food, though sources say it will be much more of a nightlife and live music destination than a place for a seated dinner. That means mostly bar bites tucked into a large room with a center bar and a sleek, sophisticated modern aesthetic.
Of course, it’s not surprising to see the Wokcano’s M2K restaurant group branching out once again. After all, they’re the operators behind everything from Triple 8 at L.A. Live to the popular EMC Seafood & Raw Bar, which itself has been expanding at an incredible clip as of late.
