It’s a big day for the Valley, as chef Ludo Lefebvre announced at his home over the weekend plans to bring a Petit Trois to the area. The excessively popular bistro-style strip mall spot off Highland and Melrose will be expanding somewhere over the hill soon enough, though it’s not perfectly clear just yet as to where the second iteration will land.
Ludo made the announcement while cooking up a storm for a few invited bloggers at his beautiful home kitchen in Sherman Oaks, which was ostensibly set up as a way to promote the fact that he’ll be an upcoming star on the next season of Mind of a Chef, the hit PBS culinary show. Though Eater was not in attendance, word started spreading pretty quickly that Petit Trois 2.0 was happening after Jo Stougaard of My Last Bite posted a video of Ludo casually making the announcement while cooking.
So far there’s no official word on where exactly Petit Trois will find a home in the Valley, but it’s a safe assumption that Ventura Boulevard will be the likeliest destination, and possibly in the Sherman Oaks / Studio City area given that it’s where Ludo himself lives.
Regardless, it’s a big get for the Valley, which has been on a serious upswing lately with newer concepts. You’ll find everything from the hit Augustine Wine Bar to new dinner destination The Bellwether to Luke Reyes’ upcoming ramen concept up in the Valley now, and the introduction of a place with such a massive national reputation as Petit Trois should only help to bring more and more concepts along soon.
