It's looking like a possible trifecta for Trejo's Tacos, the La Brea taco specialist that only opened last month. Word has been out for a while that the folks behind the brand would be taking over a second space in Hollywood, but now comes some supposed news of a third setup on Virgil in the East Hollywood/Silver Lake stretch, within shouting distance of neighborhood favorite Sqirl.

It seems the Hollywood location, tucked just off Cahuenga and Selma near Big Wang's, is nearly ready to roll. What's more, the former District 13 space is apparently hiring up at the moment, and will come with access to beer and wine once it's up and running.

Perhaps more intriguing is the alleged Silver Lake outpost, which is rumored to be taking over the only recently defunct Romero's Chicken N Donuts on Virgil, just below Melrose. That restaurant shuttered quietly after a 15 year run in the neighborhood, and at least one manager at the La Brea location of Trejo's Tacos says the company is quickly moving in. Eater reached out to direct reps for the company to ask them about expansion plans, but so far they haven't made the Silver Lake news official. More on this as it comes.
