Plus oysters and a wonderful outdoor dining area

Here’s one you might not have seen coming: Knuckle & Claw is open today in Santa Monica. The Silver Lake seafood restaurant decided to drop a surprise new location right on Main Street, and you can stop in as of 11 a.m. to enjoy oysters, whoopie pies, and those famous lobster rolls.

Though their original outlet on Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake is only some 14 months old, the intrepid ownership duo of Chloe Dahl and Nikki Booth figured the time was right to expand their operation. For them, that meant a move to the Westside, and when a space opened up on Main Street the pair decided to jump at the opportunity.

Though the basics of this new location are the same — lobster rolls served in a chic reimagining of a casual New England seaside eatery — there are definitely some new details. For one there’s a true oyster bar now, while the back half of the space is an expanse of outdoor garden seating done on picnic tables. The menu has also been expanded to include salads, and smaller bites alike.

Knuckle & Claw opens today, keeping hours from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Friday and Saturday nights, those extend to 11 p.m.
