The past few years have been marked by a juice boom that has taken LA by storm. With such a rapid pace of expansion, juiceries were bound to hit some troubled waters. Following the sweeping closures of Orchard Flats, Pressed Juicery is now in the hotbed with a serious warning letter from the Food and Drug Administration.
According to CBS LA, the letter reads, "Your juice products...have been prepared, packed or held under insanitary conditions, whereby they may have been rendered injurious to health."
Pressed fired back by explaining that, "The FDA has no health or safety issues with our products when refrigerated as directed on our product labels. Their concern is specifically related to the potential risks when our products are subject to ‘severe temperature abuse.'"
The real take away here is that Pressed addicts should be sure to keep their juices well refrigerated to prevent certain organisms from growing in the beverages.
Pressed Juicery has 15 days to respond to the warning.
