It looks as though Tarzana Armenian Deli has unceremoniously closed its Studio City outlet on Ventura Boulevard, leaving only their namesake Tarzana location behind.
The quiet shutter seems to have taken customers by surprise, with Yelp reporting the place as having closed sometime within the past month or so. Much like the enduring Tarzana space, which has been open for more than four decades, the so-called TAG deli (colloquially short for Tazana Armenian Grocery) is known for their pita wraps, a sort of hybrid lahmajun/burrito option that proved popular with just about everyone.
Thankfully, the original Tarzana location is still going strong, serving those popular wraps and soujouk options, as well as more straightforward Middle Eastern fare. Hours for the existing outlet run 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. most days, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays. So if you want your fix, you might have to drive a little further next time.
