Big news today, as New York City’s Catch has finally laid out plans to arrive with their very own rooftop hideaway by early fall. The long-awaited seafood-leaning restaurant currently enjoys locations in NYC, Dubai, and Playa del Carmen, and will debut on Melrose and San Vicente by September.
It’s taken some time for Catch to officially land due in part to the city themselves, which required a whole boatload of permitting before allowing the rooftop restaurant to move forward. It’s also been a unique build-out, as the restaurant and bar space will sit atop some 12,000 square feet of new construction, and allow for nearly unrivaled open-air dining. The idea is to seamlessly merge the indoor and outdoor spaces, with lots of greenery, glass, and and retractable roof.
The menu at Catch is an eclectic look at all things ocean, from lobster mac & cheese to truffle sashimi to sushi rolls and lettuce wraps. There will be cocktails and wine to help take the edge off as well, meaning there’s a good chance the rooftop spot ends up becoming as popular with locals, scenesters, and beautiful folks as nearby E.P. & L.P. on La Cienega.
The EMM Group founders Mark Birnbaum and Eugene Remm are behind Catch, and say that the restaurant should be ready for a September arrival. Until then, sate yourselves with a few high-end renderings of the future rooftop getaway.
