Sadie Kitchen & Lounge Closes Abruptly in Hollywood, Taking Nighthawk With It

It's a swift end for a solid Hollywood restaurant and bar

It’s the end of the line for Sadie Kitchen & Lounge in Hollywood, as ownership decided to close down the five year old restaurant abruptly as of two days ago. That also means that Jeremy Falls’ nighttime breakfast bar, Nighthawk, is down for the count as well — though the plans to jump an all-day equivalent over to Melrose are still in order.

Ownership says that over the years Sadie had been something of an anomaly in Hollywood, where "cocktails and good food … still aren’t" synonymous with the neighborhood. In a Facebook post, the company also thanks the many servers and bartenders who have wound their way through Sadie over the years, often overcoming some "incredible challenges" that come with working in the touristy (and occasionally seedy) Hollywood.

As of this moment, Sadie’s OpenTable page lists the restaurant as permanently closed. Nighthawk faces a similar fate at the moment, though it’s not been for lagging sales: the evening-only breakfast concept has been drawing crowds.

Thankfully, the entire Sadie complex won't be down for too long, as it appears that Mark Verge (Ox & Son) is taking over and has plans to install another Hollywood club. The concept for that one is still in the works, however.
