Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles Will Start Exploding Your Instagram Feed Soon

Waffle-makers Bruxie look to combo their creations with some hot chicken

Is there no stopping the Nashville hot chicken trend? Apparently not, as fast casual player Bruxie is getting into the game with their own iteration.

Just one week after Howlin’ Ray's in Chinatown debuted their own new hot chicken and waffles tray, it seems Orange County-based Bruxie is doing the same. The plan for Bruxie is to serve a hot chicken and waffle sandwich (basically a boneless spiced thigh wrapped in a savory waffle) alongside a skillet plate of the same combination, though that option comes with maple butter for a more sweet-salty-hot trifecta.

So far, the company hasn’t rolled out the hot chicken option to all locations —you can get your fix at the Santa Monica location, though — but will likely make the move official sometime soon. Of course, Bruxie was far from the first multi-outlet chain to jump into the Nashville hot chicken game: KFC has been tinkering with their own version for months now. Luckily, Angelenos still have the West Coast’s best option in truck-turned-restaurant Howlin’ Ray's.
