The Portland-to-LA pipeline is still wide open, as artisanal doughnut icon Voodoo Doughnut is set to make its way south. The colorfully oddball Portland shop recently announced plans to land at Universal Studios.

Per The Oregonian, Voodoo Doughnut plans to arrive at Universal Studios by Halloween, if all goes well. The shop is said to be setting up shop right in the thick of the touristy corridor, near Ludo Lefebvre’s fried chicken stop and the upcoming Meizhou Kitchen concept. As the Oregonian notes, apparently there were talks early on for Voodoo to become part of the larger Harry Potter world inside the Universal Studios park proper, but those never came to fruition.

The impending arrival of Voodoo marks just the latest Portland offering to wash ashore in Los Angeles, behind options like Salt & Straw ice cream and competitor Blue Star Donuts. Even big chef names like Jenn Louis have been recently talking about setting up shop in the City of Angels.
