Culver City’s The Cannibal has started to come to life, as the butcher shop side of the multi-functional space officially opens today. Bathed in neon light and all the accoutrements of a wood-lined modern butchery, the walk-up counter service option will offer everything from sandwiches to whole cuts of meat.

It’s a tiny room to work with at just 400 square feet, but says loads about the provenance of the charcuterie and craft beer to come from the upcoming sit-down restaurant side of The Cannibal. Step into the shop and find hanging cured meats, whole chickens and pork chops for takeaway, along with a collected menu of breakfast and lunch options. Sandwiches run in the $12 to $18 range, and there are retail offerings like sauces, rubs, and pasta to boot.

The Cannibal's butcher shop opens today and runs all this week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and starting next week they'll open at 8 a.m. daily and close at 6 p.m. The restaurant side of The Cannibal opens next week at Platform in Culver City.
