Brentwood's pizza fortunes are turning for the better, as newcomer Pizzana will take over the defunct Adoteca soon enough.
The restaurant space on San Vicente Boulevard has been a whirlwind of activity of late, with Toddrickallen first showing off the new look exterior that just revealed the restaurant's name. Prior to that report, the only real information on what might be taking over the former Adoteca came from a (since switched) ABC license that pegged owners Candace and Charles Nelson to the restaurant. If those names sound familiar, it's likely you've seen them mentioned previously as the ownership duo behind the severely popular Sprinkles cupcakes brand.
There was some confusion early on as to the working title of the restaurant being Daniele, but as it turns out that's just the name of the chef who will be manning the concept. Naples-raised Daniele Uditi is set to be the one working the pizza oven, following a long stint as a private chef to the stars.
So far there's no timeline for opening, though Eater is told the place is in full demo mode. You can actually see some shots of the construction here, and from just about every angle it looks as though Pizzana will take a while to come to life. Eater reached out to the Nelsons for more information, but so far hasn't heard back.
