Los Angeles's booming outdoor dining scene just got maybe it's best new entrant yet. Welcome to Salazar, in the humble neighborhood of Frogtown in between Silver Lake and Glendale nearby the Los Angeles River.

The new taco and grilled meats spot Salazar is looking to become a major player along the revitalized LA River. Cornered away just east of Silver Lake on Fletcher Drive, the almost exclusively outdoor restaurant will bring Northern Mexican-style flour tortillas and grilled proteins starting Thursday, May 26.

Salazar is the brainchild of Billy Silverman and Mexicali Taco & Co co-founder Esdras Ochoa, who worked with M+ to retool a former auto body shop into a taco and craft beer destination. The former office now holds a wide grill for all that meat, with big windows showing off the work (and the handmade flour tortillas) being crafted inside. The full menu is below, with drinks coming from Aaron Melendrez (The Normandie Club, Walker Inn).

Mostly Salazar is an outdoor oasis for all-day dining, thanks to landscaping by The Yard that gives the corner lot an arid, inviting desert feel. Colorful seating rings the space, while a pergola provides shade and drought-resistant plants keep the area feeling green. Salazar opens Thursday in Frogtown with lunch through dinner hours.
