Filipino-Inspired Bake Shop Destined for Silver Lake

FrankieLucy is coming this fall to Silver Lake from two familiar names

Farley Elliott is the Senior Editor at Eater LA and the author of Los Angeles Street Food: A History From Tamaleros to Taco Trucks. He covers restaurants in every form, from breaking news to the culture, people, and history that surrounds LA's dining landscape.

Two names from the coffee and dessert worlds are joining forces, as Found Coffee’s Annie Choi is teaming up with Crème Caramel's Kristine de la Cruz (along with Sean Gilleland) for a brand new bakery in Silver Lake. Called FrankieLucy Bakeshop, the incoming caffeine and sweets space will open two doors down from Knuckle & Claw on Sunset Boulevard.

The idea with FrankieLucy is to seamlessly blend both sides of the equation. That means a variety of the pastries like scones and biscuits, plus cakes and signature custards (lecheflan). You’ll also find quiches and bread puddings, making the place an all-around food option to go along with Choi’s collection of coffees and Demitasse beans.

The plan right now is to debut FrankieLucy Bakeshop sometime in the fall, though an exact date is still to come. The space, formerly Leticia's Mini Market, is fully cleaned out at the moment, so look for work to begin soon enough on what should be yet another top-level walkable coffee option in Silver Lake — already one of the most caffeinated neighborhoods around.
