A New Lobster & Beer Joint Opens in Palms, and It's Called Lobster & Beer

Palms is certainly on its way up, as one of the many smaller neighborhoods in LA that now have terrific public transit access thanks to last week's Expo Line opening. And a hip new spot called Lobster & Beer is now open at the rather ugly building that sits on the corner of Palms and Motor Avenue. If you try and guess what they serve, you'd be mildly surprised, because there's so much more to this place than the red Maine crustacean and smooth craft suds.

The bill of fare boasts a shrimp roll, lobster-topped salads, tater tots (with Old Bay seasoning), of course, plus an ahi tuna bowl if sea critters aren't to your taste. In all, the product isn't so much overly hipster as it is timelessly New England (with just maybe a bit too much red everywhere). It's certainly a nice addition to the neighborhood despite Wilde Thistle's departure.

Hours run 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, and until 11 p.m. on weekends.
