According to multiple reports, police managed to successfully subdue a man with a gun last night inside a Sherman Oaks-area In-N-Out. No one was hurt.
The intense scene began unfolding around 11:15 p.m. last night, as local Twitter account LA Scanner mentioned news of a possible gunman at the restaurant. The anonymous account aggregates police-band radio scanner information from across Los Angeles, and picked up that someone had called 911 to report the man, and police were still en route.

Stu Mundel, an aerial photojournalist for KCBS, arrived on the scene shortly thereafter via helicopter, and began taking overhead footage of the scene. In the image, it's clear that the restaurant has been completely surrounded by police, with Mundel adding that all employees and customers were safely evacuated.

Twenty minutes later, the Van Nuys Boulevard scene was over, with the alleged gunman in handcuffs after police apparently used non-lethal force to bring the man down. He was reportedly intoxicated and possibly on drugs, per the police scanner, and was felled by a series of high-powered bean bag shots. In-N-Out declines to speak about such incidents at their store locations.
