Inside Dongpo, Arcadia's New Show-Stopping Chinese Restaurant

Meizhou Dongpo's Sichuan follow-up has arrived

The Sichuan-leaning Meizhou Dongpo certainly has enjoyed its run in Century City since opening in 2013. The massively modern Chinese restaurant never skimped on culinary tradition despite being well west of the San Gabriel Valley, but quickly enough ownership realized that bringing another upscale option back out to Arcadia might be a smart idea as well.

Enter Dongpo Restaurant, an expanded variant of the Meizhou original in Century City. The concept actually already exists in China, where the restaurant group feeds millions of folks annually across a variety of restaurant brands and styles, but is new to the States.

Expect an even bigger menu full of modern Sichuan favorites at Dongpo Restaurant, including lots of room for seafood. The Arcadia outpost is truly meant to be an anchor property for the company as they continue to expand across California and beyond, which also means lots of gleaming surfaces, high ceilings, and beautiful lighting. The place has room for well over 250 guests to dine at any given time, across dim and inviting lounge areas and semi-private dining sections. There are even four different VIP areas for secluded seating outside of the luxurious main dining room.

Dongpo Restaurant opens today in Arcadia, keeping lunch through dinner hours from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. weekdays, and 10 p.m. on weekends. They're currently in soft open mode so expect limited available tables for now.
