Most of the stories coming out of Westfield Century City have been about the sweeping restaurant closures throughout the mall. Well it looks like new concepts are finally making their way into the ritzy complex, with an ABC license and confirmation coming today that Orange County-based upscale Mexican chain Javier's will take over the shuttered Seasons 52.
With locations in Newport Beach, Irvine, Las Vegas, and Los Cabos, the Century City branch seems like a natural addition to the growing family of restaurants. Known for people watching and copious amounts of margaritas as much as it is for its pricey Mexican cuisine, Javier's should be a much better fit for the mall than the generally disliked Seasons 52. The Orange County transplant hopes to open at the end of this year or early 2017.
With Pink Taco and BJ's out; and Javier's, Eataly, and Shake Shack on deck, the mall that is currently under heavy construction seems like it will have much brighter days ahead.
