Popular chef Kris Tominaga has officially landed at Mardi, which opens today in West Hollywood. The restaurant, inside the Palihouse hotel on Holloway Drive, is doing three square meals as of right this very second.

Owner Avi Brosh brought Tominaga onboard after the shutter of Cadet in Santa Monica, which was to be Tominaga’s solo coming out venture following his run at the Hart & The Hunter on Melrose. Unfortunately Cadet wasn’t able to hang on, leaving Tominaga to return to the Paligroup system as group executive chef.

At Mardi, the idea is to keep things lively with a mostly family-style shared plates menu that relies on large format dishes like a while roast chicken or a platter of slow-roasted pork neck. There’s also a variety of cold and hot sides, along with soups, cheeses, and other small starters. For most of the day, look for lighter options like a skirt steak sandwich, breakfast grain bowls, and a $17 smoked sausage breakfast sandwich. The full dinner menu is below.

Mardi, being a hotel restaurant, will keep daily all day hours from 7 a.m. on, with a break between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to prep for dinner. Brunch runs weekends only from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
