Things continue to look up for Venice, as yet another newcomer is heading into the fray. This time it’s Chez Tex, a casual coffee and wine bar option slated to arrive into a tiny space on Main Street soon.
There’s not a ton of info to be had just yet, as both the company’s website and Facebook page are basically blank. You’ll find a bit more visual info over on their Instagram page, but still nothing much is being given away at the moment.
Here’s what we do know: Chez Tex hopes to become an all-day space that works a coffee menu in the morning and through lunch, before transitioning into a wine bar at night. This ABC license is attached to one Jesse Feldman and actually dates to over a year ago, with plans for beer and wine sales only. As for the mornings, they’ll be leaning on beans from the folks at Counter Culture Coffee — whose own Silver Lake training center is just about ready to launch.
Over on Craigslist the husband and wife team behind Chez Tex are looking for all manner of line and prep cooks, plus an opening head chef (grilling experience necessary, apparently). They call the upcoming restaurant a "36-seat, boutique restaurant cafe". That post is from just four days ago, so if you think you’ve got the skills, might as well throw your name in the hat.
So far, calls and emails for clarification on Chez Tex, including a menu and opening date, have gone unanswered. Got more info on Chez Tex? Feel free to hit the tip line or the comments section below.
