If you find yourself in or around Silver Lake tomorrow night, maybe make your way over to Sqirl on Virgil. That’s where Jessica Koslow will be hanging out, swapping stories with Raul Ortega of Mariscos Jalisco fame. The two have partnered up for a one-night only event they’re dubbing Noche Pescado, with proceeds to benefit the Hollenbeck Youth Center in East L.A.

The plan, says Koslow via email, is to have Ortega and his crew park their Mariscos Jalisco rig right out front of Sqirl around 11 p.m., and serve up until they sell out. They’ll be doing the usual fried shrimp tacos, of course, but also a couple of collaboration dishes with Koslow and her crew. There’ll be a yellowtail tostada, wontons, drinks, and even a cookie done in tribute to Wah’s Golden Hen, the long-standing Chinese restaurant across the street from Sqirl.

What’s more, apparently Vice’s Munchies team will be on hand, shooting an episode of their popular series Chef’s Night Out. Tickets run $20, and the party will probably only last an hour or two as things are expected to move fast.
