A man in his 50s was killed late Sunday night while eating from a taco stand along South Clarence Street in Boyle Heights, LAist reports. The man was the victim of a car crash that sent three people to the hospital with major injuries, and has one suspect behind bars on suspicion of DUI.

The terrible scene unfolded around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night, says LAist, when a Nissan Altima driven by a woman named Mariel Rosas is alleged to have jumped the curb before plowing into the stand. In the aftermath, the unidentified male succumbed to his injuries while several others were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that include at least one broken leg. Several others were treated at the scene but declined to be taken by ambulance to a hospital.

According to NBC LAthe owner of the taco stand was himself related to all three of the victims that were transported to the hospital. The driver of the car was arrested at the scene, and is possibly facing manslaughter charges relating to the crash.
