Pink’s Hot Dogs lands in Manila

It may seem like fiction, but is true as can be: Pink’s Hot Dogs, the venerable Hollywood institution, can now be found in the Philippines thanks to none other than Walter Manzke. The Republique chef helped expand the brand to Manila, with the first casual sit-down version (there’s going to be booze too) opening today. Here’s a look at what to expect, along with a photo below from Facebook showing Manzke with his team.

End your hangover

Need something specific for ending your next hangover? How about a chorizo taco, or some pozole verde? L.A. Taco says both are available for curing your next bout of post-drinking blues, along with seafood molcajetes in Boyle Heights and anything the Guerrilla Tacos team is pushing out.

LocoL is a Food & Wine restaurant of the year

Popular mag Food & Wine has unveiled their annual list of restaurants worth watching, and among them is LocoL. It's rare to see a Watts restaurant make the cut, but Daniel Patterson and Roy Choi's give-back fast food chain certainly deserves the broader look, as the pair attempt to take on issues of hunger, inequality, and fresh food across America.

Bernie hits Intelligentsia in Silver Lake

Ever the concerned but cool grandfather, Bernie Sanders hit up Intelligentsia in Silver Lake yesterday. He’s previously been spotted at Habitat Coffee in Glassell Park, a disco brunch in West Hollywood, and Downtown hotspot Broken Spanish.

LA Design Festival hits the restaurant circuit

Los Angeles’ annual design festival kicks off June 9 and runs through June 26, and along the way will take a peek inside some of the city’s most intriguing restaurants. There’s a Culver City leg through Loqui, Lukshon, and Coolhaus, a Silver Lake stint that covers Little Pine, Dinosaur Coffee, and Ostrich Farm, and another jaunt each around La Brea and Downtown. But on Thursday night, the kickoff party commences at Parachute Market with some Wine Rave action, sweets from the Mast Brothers team, and more.

Grill 'Em All does sauces

Burger favorite Grill 'Em All has quite the metalhead following for their sit-down space in Alhambra, but now the former food truck team is expanding with a line of barbecue, wing, and ketchup sauces. Each hews to the heavy metal theme (it's called Mosh Pit BBQ for example) and are available for purchase from the restaurant itself.
