Unit 120's new permanent tenant is the Golden Boys

Looks like another pop-up is moving into Unit 120 for a while, as the Golden Boys Chinese duo is taking over Thursday nights at Alvin Cailan's Chinatown restaurant incubator. Chefs Adam Midkiff and Hunter Pritchett are kicking it off with a party and a dinner tonight, and you can jump after a few tickets right this way.

Melisse hits 17 years in Santa Monica

It's hard to believe that fine dining stalwart Melisse is 17 years old already, but so it goes. To celebrate, the restaurant is doing a $185 tasting menu tonight that includes a vast array of Josiah Citrin's hits, from the egg caviar on down. It's actually a pretty important place, as it's being sold off by one Vince Marsaglia, a Pizza Port co-owner and co-founder of Lost Abbey. Yep, you'd be buying his brewing equipment too.

Monday night dinner hits L.A. Chapter

As an antidote to the many restaurants that are closed on Mondays, L.A. Chapter at the Ace Hotel in Downtown is now running a rotating $25 three-course meal that includes $7 glasses of wine. Chef Ricardo Valdes does different options every week, and they run the menu on their Instagram page.

Javier Plascencia's menu at Casa Vega

Noted Mexican chef Javier Plascencia is coming up to Casa Vega to cook this weekend, in what should be a pretty awesome time. The $109 event marries some new school and old school personalities and is in service of long-running Casa Vega's 60th anniversary in Sherman Oaks. Here's what they'll be making.
