The Tripel's Brooke Williamson Launching Hawaiian Eatery in Playa Vista

The seaside chef is going for her fourth concept

Brooke Williamson, a Top Chef alum, has been building out an empire by the sea along with co-owner and husband Nick Roberts, what with Hudson House in Redondo Beach, plus The Tripel and Playa Provisions in Playa del Rey. Today comes news of another restaurant, this time in nearby Playa Vista. Dubbed Da Kikokiko, the Hawaiian-themed eatery plans to serve everything from poke and shaved ice to spam musubi.

Going into The Runway in burgeoning Playa Vista, currently home to some of LA's most rapid development thanks to the tech industry boom, Williamson's place (which means "The Spot" in Hawaiian) will feature casual street foods in a neighborhood-friendly vibe. Though poke has certainly proliferated around town, there aren't too many places that specifically focus on Hawaiian cuisine. The few Westside outposts could be breakfast-friendly Rutt's, and perhaps Roy Choi's Hawaiian-inflected menu at A-Frame.

At the moment, Da Kikokiko is slated for a mid-August debut.
