Nothing screams summer like eating outrageous fried foods at an outdoor fair. Well Mitsuwa Marketplace, the largest Japanese supermarket chain in the country with a location in Torrance, is hosting a fair dedicated to Nagoya, a coastal manufacturing city in Japan.
That means there will be plenty of specialty foods to go around, with everything from Nagoya-style fried chicken wings (called tebasaki) with sweet soy sauce to eel bowls and sweet miso oden. You're definitely going to want to cool down with a fluffy mango shaved ice, too.
The fair will take place on July 29 and 30 at the massive Torrance marketplace, and could be a nice excuse to explore all the exceptional Japanese restaurants the South Bay has to offer.
