It seems that Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong is up and running in Torrance. The masterful Korean barbecue brand expanded quietly into the South Bay only in the past week or so.

A check of the company’s website reveals the Carson Street address in Torrance, right inside the Eastgate Plaza shopping center at the corner with Western Avenue. That puts Baekjeong right in the mix with options like Mitsuwa Marketplace, an 85 Degrees Bakery, and others.

In Koreatown proper, Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong is among the most popular and well-regarded Korean barbecue options available. Lines are always long for the wide array of high-quality meat, served in an uptempo atmosphere with lots of cheese corn on the side. The same overall experience should hold for Torrance as well, with well-versed locals happy to dive into a more centralized location to them.

Then again, Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong’s continuous expansion could start to mean there’s enough saturation of the brand to go around. Existing locations include Koreatown, Buena Park and Rowland Heights already, plus newcomers in Irvine and Temple City to boot. That’s not to say there’s ever really enough Korean barbecue to go around. After all: new places keep popping up all the time.

Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong is open now in Torrance, keeping daily hours from 4 p.m. to midnight.
