As promised, here come several new locations of DC-founded Cava Grill. The fast casual Mediterranean restaurant already enjoys an outpost at the Village at Westfield Topanga (their first in the Southland) and, more recently, in Westwood. Now they’re aiming for the Westside, with a dose of Orange County thrown in for good measure.
First up for Cava Grill is the already-known location at 9343 Culver Boulevard in downtown Culver City, right inside the former home of the now-shuttered Native Foods Cafe. It’s a high foot traffic area, and should help anchor the brand on that part of town, as the company also operates a production kitchen in Culver City for their line of dips and spreads, which are sold in Whole Foods and beyond.
Next up is Santa Monica with a space on Second Street, which is slated to open in early 2017. After that it’s Lincoln Boulevard in Venice, just south of Rose Avenue, with one more expansion into Irvine later in 2017.
That trio of newcomers, combined with Culver City, Westwood, and the Westfield Topanga, will bring Cava Grill’s total footprint up to six stores — which is equal to the number of outlets that fellow East Coast concepts Sweetgreen and The Halal Guys have combined. Looks like someone’s using their millions in investment money rather wisely.
