Mar Vista’s Status Kuo has surprised reopened today, with the Westside rotisserie option only announcing this morning their plans to come back to life following an extended renovation period.

The plan at the time was to ultimately expand the concept, and that seems to be exactly what they’ve done. Owners David and Maki Kuo are now pouring beer, wine, and cocktails in addition to their usual slew of perfectly rendered chicken and porchetta, and hope to use their new bar to keep longer, stronger hours moving forward.

You can take a peek at the new space below, which feels like a comfortable drinking den attached to their existing minimalist digs. Status Kuo opens today at 3 p.m., and you can start making dinner reservations on Reserve now for later in the month.
