There have been rumblings of a collaboration dinner between chef/owner Kris Yenbamroong of Night + Market and Kwang Uh/Matthew Kim of Baroo for some time. Now it looks like the party is on.
Per a couple of new social media posts on the Night + Market side, it looks like a dinner is indeed happening August 14 at the flagship West Hollywood location. There aren't a ton of details just yet in terms of full menu and structure, but Yenbamroong has been calling it a fried chicken feast for some time now. The menu will consist of a cold fermented rice noodle dish called kanom jin sao nam, plus a gnocchi dish and some of Night + Market's popular fried chicken, using a fermented black garlic ranch sauce that frankly sounds awesome.
It should be a fun, reservation-only evening with two of the most eclectic minds cooking in Los Angeles today. Yenbamroong has long been a public supporter of all things Baroo, so it follows that a collaboration dinner would have been in the works for some time now.
What's even more interesting is the jump for chef Uh into something new, his first real outside venture from the tiny strip mall restaurant space basically since opening. This one is going to be very, very cool — and will probably sell out, so get your seat now.
