Big news from the folks at Ventura Boulevard Magazine today, as it was announced that Famous Label’s Delicatessen has returned to the very first address it ever had, inside a strip mall in Tarzana. The restaurant officially reopened on August 1.

According to Ventura Boulevard Mag, Famous Label's Deli first debuted in 1979 as the precursor to the perhaps more well-known Label’s Table, which operated in Woodland Hills for more than twenty years before closing in 2014. Now one of the chefs from that restaurant named Orlando Araujo has taken over the lease of the original site, and has come back with much the same menu as ever.

You’ll still find hot pastrami sandwiches, lox benedict, and plenty of rye bread favorites on the menu, along with burgers, salads, and some more modern fare. Don’t skip on the corner beef tongue, matzoh ball soup, and towering piles of chopped liver.

Hours for the new Famous Label’s Delicatessen run seven days per week, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
