Santa Monica must be in need of more Italian food, because here comes O+O Sicilian Kitchen to Ocean Avenue. The casual newcomer is going to be playing the hits and plying locals with lots of wine at the base of a familiar mixed-use development just blocks from the ocean.

Back in July, healthy-eating Elovate Vegan Kitchen shuttered in Santa Monica. The Ocean Avenue address sat just around the corner from the bootleg Joan's on Third, but struggled to hit the one year mark. Now with the arrival of O+O (as in Ocean Avenue. and Olympic Drive), there’s new life at the mixed-used complex near the beach.

The plan with O+O is to work a strong menu of Italian classics, from pizza to meatballs on down. There will also be a full bar, plus a slew of wine and some craft beer as well. IDEA is behind the new look of the place, while chef/owner Georgi Yaneff will handle food. Yaneff has a background in DC working at for José Andrés, as well as DSTRKT in London.

Look for O+O to kick to life in early October, working dinner only but with a happy hour in the mix.
