The feline-focused world has been waiting rather impatiently for Los Angeles’s first-ever cat cafe to arrive. The good news is, they won’t have to suffer much longer. According to the inbound company Crumbs & Whiskers, which opened their first cat cafe iteration in Washington D.C. a little while back, LA’s own version will arrive by September 30 nearby the corner of Melrose and Fairfax Avenues.

So what can one expect at the cafe? Some seriously stylish digs, for one. Take a look at all the endlessly Instagrammable nooks and crannies of the place. They even have a couple of well-placed slogans: Cats Before Bros (painted on the wall), and one of those ubiquitous neon sign that reads "COFFEE AND CATS, PLEASE."

Now, as for actually getting in to the cat cafe. There’s going to be a couple of weeks of working out the kinks with some limited events and soft opening hours, beginning September 15. Those are mostly for invite-only guests, though Crumbs & Whiskers owner Kanchan Singh says they'll be doing a few special online contests to allow winners in to pet and sip their way to nirvana. You’ll also be able to purchase some limited-time tickets to get in early, with an online sale happening September 7 for tickets running $200.

After September 30, guests will be able to head in as normal simply by purchasing a reservation for $22 per 75-minute block. Those go on sale September 21 on the company’s website, so if you don’t have the $200 to shell out for a preview event, mark that date in your calendar instead.

A portion of the proceeds from both regular sales and pre-event sales will also be benefiting Open Space and Karma Rescue, the not-for-profit partner of Crumbs & Whiskers in their venture to rescue felines and give them a better home at the cafe and with families. Much like the lauded dog cafe on Beverly Blvd on the edge of Silver Lake, the plan is to actually provide a sanctuary for the animals — the coffee and that fuzzy feeling in your heart are just byproducts, really.
