Who here remembers Crazy Gideon? You know, the always-yelling TV pitchman known for his high vocal range and oddball antics with a series of local LA television spots? Well his Downtown electronics shop might be gone forever, but ol’ Crazy Gideon lives on at Arts District Brewing, of all places.
In a new online-only commercial made specifically for the brewery, Crazy Gideon reprises his role as a screamy advocate for none other than his own branded Arts District Brewing beer. Yes, the graphics are as cheesy as you want them to be, and yes Gideon does go a little bit, well, crazy when hyping up the product. Take a look:
It doesn’t entirely seem like whoever was running the camera was comfortable with him smashing that glass, right?
Regardless, it’s nice to see Crazy Gideon back in action, hawking beer and generally being just self-aware enough to put something like this together. As for the beer itself, you can grab a pint of Crazy Gideon Double IPA starting next Wednesday, August 10. And, says the brewery, if you look around at the release party that kicks off at 5 p.m. that night, you may just see Gideon himself holding court. Just don’t get too close.
