Months after taking over the defunct Native Foods Cafe on Ocean Park Boulevard in Santa Monica, it seems that Society Kitchen is now up and running. The new concept comes from restaurateur Eiman Shekarchi, who also happens to own Crimson next door alongside partner April Heidarian.

The new Society Kitchen isn’t afraid of meat, or the occasional use of gluten and butter. Instead, it’s a casual all-day space for things like kale salads, chimichurri steak sandwiches, pizzas, and larger main dishes like whole grilled fish. You’ll also find a full beverage program, including an impressive array of teas to go along with the coffee, beer, and wine. Partner Nicole Ghafourian and architect Natalie Kazanjian are also involved in the project, which soft opened last week. A full menu is below.

As for the space, expect a toned-down look that includes lots of sleek surfaces, open glass work, and an outdoor patio complete with the requisite string lights. All-day hours means the restaurant opens daily at 8 a.m., and runs continuously until 9 p.m. most nights. That extends to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
