The long-running Border Grill in Santa Monica is set to be no more soon, with a closing date of October 8 announced for the restaurant. Along the way, expect a slew of deals and send-off dinners from the Too Hot Tamales team.

Chef/owners Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken plan to keep Border Grill Santa Monica running for the next four weeks, essentially, with a special one-off dish each week done as a throwback to the team’s previous menus. This week is chicken chilaquiles, with portobello mulitas, a stuffed ribeye, and more to follow.

Starting tomorrow, you’ll also be able to grab $3 house margaritas from 4 p.m. through 7 p.m., Monday through Friday inside the cantina. There will also be $8 endless mimosas at brunch time, along with all-day happy hour during the week at the bar, and unlimited brunch small plates for $26 on weekends.

Needless to say, Border Grill in Santa Monica might be rather busy between now and October 8.
