Downtown’s Hotel Figueroa is in line for a big new upgrade, as the property has been looking to completely overhaul its food and beverage program for some time now. The first big new name to jump onboard? Casey Lane.
You might know Lane from his stints at places like The Parish in Downtown (which is now Preux & Proper), and seminal The Tasting Kitchen from days gone by. He also had plans to open an Italian concept called Itri along Melrose at one point, but the James Beard-nominated chef ultimately put those away for other options elsewhere.
Lane now comes onboard the 1920’s era property at a unique time — the whole hotel has been deep in the midst of a much-needed refresh that will see them unveil new rooms and all new eating and drinking components this fall.
According to the LA Times, Lane will be spearheading two separate restaurants (one likely an all-day option and another more focused option for dinner, though that’s unconfirmed), while famous barman Dushan Zaric (Employees Only, NYC) will oversee plans for four separate bars, including the poolside drink spot shown above.
Look for all six of these concepts to come online at Hotel Figueroa throughout the fall, with more details on each as they come.
