Have you stopped into Pizza of Venice lately? The out-of-the-way spot in Altadena turns out some of the city’s most inventive pizzas, from simple margheritas to barbecue chicken. Now they’re turning their attention to wings with a new Downtown stop.
Called POV Snack Shop, the offshoot concept attached to Mission Market at the Spring Arcade building in the city’s Historic Core opened just about two weeks ago. It’s a corner spot with a fair bit of frontage — just like the upcoming Clayton’s Public House on the other side — that should help to pull folks into the still-burgeoning stretch.
Of course, selling wings will help all on its own. Working a daily menu of six wings for $9 or 20 pieces for $20, POV Snack Shop might just be the next ultra-casual place that stretch of town has been after. You’ll also find fries, a couple of salads, and some brussels sprouts on the menu, plus an array of hot sauces that range from pineapple bbq to a few fiery habanero-laced options.
The casual spot joins a variety of concepts that have made their way to the Spring Arcade over the past year, from wine bar Garçons de Café to Guisados to the reopened BierBeisl Imbiss. POV Snack Shop keeps hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
