Hollywood’s Iconic Piano Bar Sings Its Last Tune This Sunday

The Houston Brothers bid farewell to their first project

Piano Bar

Piano Bar, the Hollywood nightlife standby that served as prolific nightlife duo Mark and Johnnie Houston’s first concept, will have its last night of service this Sunday. The brothers first took over the space in 2009, after which point the music-oriented lounge played hosted to such talents as George Thorogood, Jeremy Renner, Tom Jones, Harry Connick Jr., Gary Clark Jr., Tom Waits, and Craig Robinson.

Piano Bar, known for its happy hours and free barbecue Sundays, was beloved by locals for its focus on live music. Fitting of the venue’s legacy, Piano Bar will celebrate its last week with a full roster of programming. Those missing the lounge’s chill vibes can find respite in the Houston Brothers’ surviving venues Harvard & Stone, No Vacancy, Pour Vous, Break Room 86, and La Descarga, with more projects on the horizon.

Here’s the final schedule:

Thursday 9/22: West Coast Get Down, Kamasi Washington, Miles Mosely, Thundercat

Friday 9/23 : Aaron Durr, The Flathead Roadsters

Saturday 9/24 : Mikes Hayes, Boom Boom BoomSunday

9/25 : The last hurrah. Surprise guest appearances and free barbecue.
