There’s another big coffee name headed for Downtown, this time with a familiar face. Paramount Coffee Project, the Australian-born, Fairfax-based shop is heading for a second location inside ROW DTLA, the gigantic mixed-use compound that currently hosts Smorgasburg and a number of offices throughout its sprawling layout.
The announcement means that there will be plenty of caffeine options for workers and travelers to the gigantic project off Alameda. Cafe Dulce already enjoys a daily location inside one of the main buildings on site, while on Sundays guests heading to Smorgasburg can also get coffee from vendors inside. What’s more, plans have already been announced to bring Go Get Em Tiger into the fold sometime next year, with that team tackling a 1,500 square foot space.
Still, it’s a great get for ROW DTLA, as Paramount Coffee Project is considered one of the better coffee options in all of LA. Owners Mark Dundon, Russell Beard, and Ping Jin Ng are internationally known for their prowess within the coffee community (they own successful shops in Australia as well), and hope to bring that knowledge into a 4,000 square foot space that will offer over 1,000 square feet of patio alone.
The Paramount team will also be doing a full run of food, just like at their Fairfax location, which will add to the number of dining options for ROW DTLA. There are around a dozen or so planned for the project, operating across morning, lunch, and evening hours, with most scheduled to come online by next summer. That’s the time frame for Paramount Coffee Project as well, which means it’ll still be a while before your next trip to Smorgasburg also includes a stop-in at one of the city’s most respected shops.
