Here’s news on the next tenant for the beloved BLD space on Beverly. Turns out via some city paperwork that none other than Take a Bao will be entering the address with their own big plans, though a timeline for their opening is still a ways off.

As this pending ABC license shows, the TAB Dining Group (that’s Take a Bao, of course) is heading into the property, and owner Brent Stein says he’s going to go big. Expect an expansion from their Studio City space, with sit-down service and a full bar. They’ll be blowing out the menu too, adding in a ton of new items and even exploring brunch. If you know anything about BLD over the past ten years, it’s that brunch is an important part of that restaurant space’s DNA.

Kelly Architects will soon be taking over the space to give it an overhaul, with the opening slated for sometime later this year. Stein says the Take a Bao team isn’t done expanding yet, either; they’re still exploring more addresses around town, so keep an eye out.

For now, BLD remains up and running, so get in for one last round of those famous pancakes.
