Birds & Bees comes online at the end of the month on Broadway

Things are speeding up at Birds & Bees in Downtown, the jazzy new speakeasy headed for a clandestine opening along Broadway. Tucked into the bottom of the Broadway Media Center, the project has plans to open on Saturday, January 28.

Though there are no interior shots of the under-construction space designed by Raveled Studio, a few more key details have fallen into place since Eater first announced the project back in August. Owner Dev Desai is behind the fully licensed booze spot, and he’s brought along cocktail journeyman Marcos Tello to consult on the opening menu. Bethany Ham of The Corner Door will step in as overall bar manager doing day-to-day operations.

Once complete, the space is hoping to offer 1950’s-era appeal, with dim lighting and dark wood accents. The look and hidden-in-plain-sight feel of Birds & Bees, just a block north of Grand Central Market and within walking distance of Otium, Perch, and Redwood Bar, makes it an appealing new option to a bustling part of Downtown.
