Los Angeles is full of strip mall dining options, but it’s not often that one appears way up in Bel Air’s Beverly Glen neighborhood. That will change once Jayde’s At The Glen opens in November, selling sandwiches and more to hungry locals. It is the first market and deli for Beverly Glen resident and entrepreneur Thomas Plejer.
Named after Plejer’s daughter, Jayde’s At The Glen is designed to fulfill early morning coffee needs, lunch sandwiches, or a last-minute dinner pick-up. The new Jayde’s resides in what used to be the actual Beverly Glen Marketplace, which the local community relied on for decades. Plejer always admired the space, and quickly assembled a team to redevelop the empty market.
The Beverly Glen neighborhood sits on a suburban hillside, with limited options for shopping and food, so the arrival of Jayde’s should be welcome news for locals. Wolfgang Gussmack is the Culinary Director, and brings his experience from Röckenwagner Bakery Group and the Ballona Fish Market to the menu.
Beyond the takeaway meals and sit-down dining options, Plejer is curating a collection of beer and wine, sustainable meats, and produce from Scarborough Farms and McGrath Family Farm. There will also be bread and pastry from Bub & Grandma’s, and the Bread Lounge. Hours are still to be determined.
