Milk Tavern Dessert Lounge

For the sugar addicted or those unwilling to make the full leap into adulthood, Koreatown’s Milk Tavern Dessert Lounge provides a match made in heaven: cereal, ice cream, games, and alcohol. Conceived by ALMG Hospitality Group, the 3,000 square foot bar opened in late September.

Milk Tavern stocks 18 different types of cereals that vary from the classic to obscure. They also boast liquor-infused ice cream, chocolate beers, cereal milkshakes, cereal soft serve, and beer floats. Cones come in four flavors: traditional, red velvet, birthday cake batter, and hot pink vanilla. Bartenders encourage consuming the menu in the lounge and outdoor patio, complete with ping pong, classic Nintendo, or a bean bag toss.

Milk Tavern is the fourth project for ALMG Group, the brains behind Milk Tavern, Yup Dduk LA, Al Party, and the now-closed Oppa Juicery.

While Milk Tavern touts itself as the first cereal bar in Los Angeles, places like Nighthawk Breakfast Bar started pouring spiked cereal milk in 2016. Los Feliz’ Cereal & Such is another spot to find Apple Jacks in a bowl while a cereal bar opened years back in Westwood before it eventually closed. Whether thoughtful or not, Milk Tavern creates a cereal saloon experience that will most likely appeal to those over 21, and obsessed with Instagram. Open from 2 p.m. until 2 a.m.
