The Major League Baseball postseason begins in Los Angeles tonight for the Dodgers, which means there will be tens of thousands of fans crushing into Chavez Ravine tonight. Thankfully the crew at Dodger Stadium is ready for the masses, with a whole new menu of one-off meals to bring to fans starting this week.
To kick off the NLDS series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Dodger Stadium is rolling out half-a-dozen new menu items across various locations, from field level and Tommy Lasorda’s Trattoria to the reserve and Loge levels.
The most outrageous item on the new list is a doughnut bacon double-cheeseburger, the sort of stunt pile usually reserved for low-level minor league stadiums. Available at Elysian Park Grill at the field and reserve levels, the monstrosity combines a split glazed doughnut with beef, cheese, candied bacon, maple syrup, and blackberry jam.
Next up is the carnitas waffle fries, available from the Bud and Burgers at field level. As expected, this is a big mound of waffle-cut potatoes piled on with slow-cooked pork. There’s also a straight-up barbecue pork rib platter, done up with a blueberry bacon sauce and a side of parmesan fries.
Elsewhere at the Chick N’ Tots and Lots O’ Tots stands in the stadium, Dodger culinary geniuses will be taking a page from the Bruxie playbook by whipping up a fried chicken waffle sandwich (yes, with more smoked and candied bacon). If that’s not enough, diners can also get to Tommy Lasorda’s Trattoria for an ice cream version of the sandwich, which means there’s a jam-filled doughnut bun wrapping spiced fried chicken, bacon, and a brick of vanilla ice cream. Chicken and ice cream, together at least.
And, finally, everyone can relive a bit of their nostalgic glory at the King’s Hawaiian Grill and Think Blue BBQ stands by picking up a Cheet-O-Lote, which is a full roasted ear of corn dusted with actual crushed up Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, plus cotija cheese, Tajin seasoning, and a lime and mayo combo topper. Expect these limited-time menu items to last the entire NLDS series.
