Crack Shack for life
Richard Blais has finally come for greater Los Angeles. Or, Orange County, as it were, opening up his first near-ish location of casual fried chicken option Crack Shack in Costa Mesa. The Orange County Register was first to catch a sneak peek of the place, which lands on 17th Street today.
A scary scene
A driver was seriously wounded during a vehicle-to-vehicle shooting on Friday night in Panorama City, with the chaotic scene culminating in the driver’s black SUV ending up in the dining area of a local Wendy’s. The LA Times is on the coverage, while the LAPD Valley Bureau is asking eye witnesses to come forward with more information.
No more Tub’s
Eight-year-old Tub’s Chili on Overland has closed. The company posted a short and sweet goodbye notice to their Instagram page, saying thanks for the memories.
Somisomi for the masses
Popular (and very Instagram-friendly) soft serve shop Somisomi is open at the Westfield Santa Anita mall. The place with the fish cone and colorful swirls is now doing their thing right in front of the Nordstroms entrance inside the mall.
Sushi Roku celebrates
Long-running Sushi Roku in Pasadena celebrates the 20th birthday of its founding company IDG, namely by offering eaters 50% off all dinner menu items between November 26 and 30. It’s dine-in only, and doesn’t apply to drinks, but still.
Pasta deals, too
Chef Luigi Fineo’s Osteria Venice West is also doing a big deal for Friday diners. As part of the greater Black Friday phenomenon, Fineo and company are offering half price for anything on the menu.
